Advantages of AV Rings and derivates

aneis_av

Os NILOS Rings are very efficient, blocking impurities from getting into the bearings and holding lubricants inside. Some other advantages are:

  • Made entirely of flexible metal with increasing sealing effect (ISE);
  • Unlimited peripheral speed;
  • Do not require finishing of contact surface;
  • High temperature resistant;
  • Reduced height, allowing simpler and more compact bushings;
  • Do not require adaptations or machining for use after project completion;
  • High durability and resistance;
  • Drastically reduce maintenance downtime and bearing replacements;
  • Increase the life span of bearings and lubricants.

The advantages of Nilos Rings over conventional seals:

  • Allow relubrications and can be reused;
  • Allow choice and use of lubricants for specific conditions;
  • Their elasticity allow periodic lubrication, with option for permanent lubrication without disassembly;
  • With Nilos Rings in stock, you can always (and only) acquire open bearings, that is, without original seals;
  • Guaranteed sealing for any type of bearing, English or Metric system.

CONTACT RINGSExternal Seal
Common characteristics share by ALL Nilos Rings of External Seal
EXTERNAL seal on the side of the bearing that you want to seal
Ring is centered on the AXIS
It is fixed with a holding ring (elastic or fixing) or lean on a washer / spacer that operates on the INNER ring of the bearing.
Specific Characteristics
AVFor ALL bearings
ZAVSingle seal for ball bearings WITH original seal (RS - 2RS) or protections plate (Z - ZZ)
AKDouble seal for conic roll bearings with the second rim frictioning against the BUSHING

Assembly instructions of AV Rings and derivates

Sealing Chamber

Fill up the NILOS RING Sealing Chamber with the same lubricant used in the bearing.

Assembly Behind the Bearing

Assemble the NILOS RING and the bearing.

imag2

Assembly in Front of the Bearing

Assemble the NILOS RING with the help of a tube in cases where the RING is installed in front of the bearing.

imag3

Concentricity

The NILOS RING must be centered along with the bearing, being:

AV Ring – on the AXIS
JV Ring – on the BUSHING

imag4

Fixing the Ring

The NILOS RING must be fixed firmly against the bearing in order to guarantee the formation of a micro groove and to keep it from slipping, as shown in drawing 4, being:

AV Ring – fixed on the inner ring of the bearing.
JV Ring – fixed on the outer ring of the bearing.

Spring Effect

In the first hours of operation, the NILOS RING acts like a spring plate, exerting a certain pressure on the internal ring (JV) or external ring (AV) of the bearing.
